Novena To Our Lady of Arabia (Patroness of Kuwait) (Feast on Saturday after the Epiphany)

Repeat the following Novena prayers every day for 9 consecutive days.

OPENING PRAYER

In the name of the Father,
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Come, O Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of Your faithful,
and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit
and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray:

O God, Who did instruct the hearts of the faithful
by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant us in the same Spirit
to be truly wise and evermore
to rejoice in His consolation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

INVOCATION

O Mary,d Dear Mother,
we call you 'Our Lady of Arabia'
to ask for your blessing upon this country,
and for your loving protection on us.
Keep ever your child near Jesus
in the happiness of sanctifying grace.

Amen.

MEMORARE

Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to your protection,
implored your assistance
or sought your intercession,
was left unaided. Inspired with
this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins,
our Mother; to you we come;
before you we kneel, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions,
but in your clemency hear and answer them.

INTERCESSORY PRAYERS

For our relations and friends:

O God Who, by the Grace of the Holy Spirit
did pour the Gifts of charity
into the hearts of Your faithful,
grant Your servants and handmaids,
for whom we entreat Your Mercy,
health of mind and body
that they may love You with all their strength
and by perfect love may do what is pleasing to You.

Cause of our joy,
Pray for us.

For sick persons recommended to our prayers:

Almighty, Everlasting God,
the abiding health of those who believe,
hear us on behalf of Your servants that are sick,
for whom we humbly crave the help of Your Mercy,
that being restored to health,
they may render thanks to You in Your Church.

For everyone in need:

Almighty, Eternal God,
the comfort of the afflicted
and the strength of those in labour;
let the prayers of those who call
upon You in any trouble, be heard by You;
that all may, with joy,
find the effects of Your mercy in their necessities.

For the Pope and the Missions:

Almighty, Eternal God,
By Whose judgment all things are ruled,
mercifully regard our prayers,
and by Your goodness preserve our Pontiff (name) chosen by You,
that Christian people,
who are governed by Your authority,
may increase the merits of their faith and their number,
under so great a Pontiff.

For the redemption of nations;peace in the world:

Almighty, Everlasting God,
In Whose Hands rest every power
and the government of all nations,
look in Your mercy,
upon those people once so devout,
and lead them back to Your law;
overcome we beseech You all human wickedness

the benefits of enduring peace.

Queen of Peace,
Pray for us.

For our deceased relatives and for the souls in Purgatory:

O God, Who grants forgiveness
and desires the salvation of mankind:
we beseech You, in Your Mercy,
to grant that our brethren,
kinsfolk and benefactors who have passed out of this life,
by the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin,
and all Your Saints,
may partake of everlasting bliss.

Gate of Heaven,

For ourselves:

O Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of our Lord Jesus and our Mother,
penetrated with the most lively confidence
in your all powerful and never failing intercession,
we your loving and trustful children
implore you to obtain for us your graces and favours
we ask during this novena,
if they be beneficial to our immortal souls.
You know, O Mary, how often
our souls have been sanctuaries
of your Son who hates iniquity.
Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin
and that purity of heart
which will attach us to God alone
so that our every thought, word and deed
may tend to His greater glory.
Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial
that we may recover by penance
what we have lost by sin
and at length attain to that blessed abode
where you are the Queen of Angels and of men.

A PLEA FOR THE TRIUMPH OF OUR LADY

Whom the Angels and Saints attend in heavenly bliss,
we hail you as Queen of Heaven and Earth;
we beseech you to proclaim your sovereignty
over the souls of men.
By the divine grace,
of which you are the kindly channel,
obtain that every soul may in truth know God,
that every heart may in humility surrender to Him.
O Mother, establish in each of us your abode of love,
that from you, all our joys may spring,
in you all our troubles may be calmed,
through you all our prayers may confidently rise.
Hasten, O powerful Queen, to conquer the world
in the peace of your love,
for the splendor of your crown
in the glorious advent of the universal reign
of your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord!

We shall end this novena service by thanking God
and our heavenly Mother for all
the benefits we have ever received
and also for the grace she will grant us
after these our prayers.

THE MAGNIFICAT

My soul does magnify the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because He has regarded the humility of His handmaid;
for behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and Holy is His Name;
And His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him.
He has shown might with His arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has given help to Israel, His servant,
being mindful of His mercy -
As He spoke to our fathers;
to Abraham and to his seed forever.

CONCLUDING PRAYER

We offer up to Thee, O Lord,
This service of praise,
rejoicing in the glory of the Mother of Your Son,
invoked as Our Lady of Arabia;
for we trust in her protection
to get rescue from all evils,
whether of the present time
or of that yet to come.
