A Prayer for Patience From 2 Corinthians 4:18
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Patience is truly a virtue. So many aspects of our lives call for patience, whether it be waiting in line at the grocery store or holding on for a brighter tomorrow. Regardless of what you’re waiting for, know that God is always with us, both for the good and the bad in life. Bible verses about patience teach us that we must be patient in His plan for us, especially when we are going through some hard times. And prayer for patience goes a long way.
Consider the value of patience in the bible: Joseph waited 13 years before God fulfilled His promise and Abraham waited 25 years for a divine encounter with God through a burning bush. Meanwhile, Moses was left stranded in the wilderness for 40 years before God showed Him the way to the Promised Land and Jesus waited for 30 years to fulfill His role as our Savior. To make a person great, God breaks them first before putting the right pieces together.
So let’s turn to this prayer to seek patience, as good things will definitely come to those who wait.
Lord, I know that I may not see You, but I feel You everywhere around me. Through all stages of life, You have been with me. In times of sorrow or in times of joy, You never fail to make your presence known.
I pray that my faith in You will never falter; I pray that my faith continues to be patient. My faith need not be loud and rambunctious, as it is powerful in its quietness. It is the same with You, as Your works need not be bold, for they continue to make a home in the simplest of creations we encounter in our daily life. Amen.
