A Prayer Asking For Help During Wedding Planning
Wedding planning looks like it’s all fun and excitement, but when you actually begin preparing you may quickly realize how stressful the process can be. For many brides and grooms, the wedding preparation process can be a trial to overcome. It doesn’t have to be something so stressful though that it ultimately makes the wedding unenjoyable. With a little help from friends, family, and most importantly, God, you will be able to have a wedding that was more than you ever imagined. Here is a prayer to help you stay focused on the most important part of your wedding, celebrating love and the Lord.
If you are feeling overwhelmed about your wedding, don’t fret. You are not alone. God is going to be with you from engagement through the wedding and through your marriage. It will be a beautiful ceremony that glorifies God and the love you share with your soon-to-be spouse.
There is no shame in asking God for help and guidance during this time. As the ceremony approaches closer and closer, you will need to rely on God more than ever. Anyone involved in the wedding can use this prayer written by Karen Barber.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I am excited that the time of our wedding is coming nearer, but I’m also stressed out because of all of the things we have yet to do to get ready.
You know how much I want the wedding to be beautiful and memorable. Here are the specific parts of our wedding that I most want to work out well (insert specific parts.)
I pray that You will clear my mind, restore me with rest and show others how to help me in the ways I feel I most need help and support today. Give me the ability to communicate my needs and concerns in clear and helpful ways.
But most importantly, amid all of the activities and deadlines, help me not to lose focus of the joy in heaven surrounding the mysterious joining together of two lives as it says in Your Word, “For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).
Enlarge my vision to see beyond the wedding day to the new lifetime before me. Let me remember that however beautiful the wedding might be, it is not the end in itself but instead an entry way into a new life partnership. Amen!
