Recovery Prayer To Grant serenity
The Serenity Prayer is one of the most well-known and dearly loved prayers. While remarkably simple, it has impacted countless lives, supplying them with God's strength and courage in their battle to overcome life-controlling addictions. This prayer has also been called the 12-Step Prayer, the Alcoholics Anonymous Prayer or the Serenity Prayer.
Recovery Prayer:
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that you will make all things right,
If I surrender to your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with you
Forever in the next.
